A year later, we can look at the Arizona Cardinals’ draft class and wonder if they made the right selections. The Cardinals didn’t get many contributions from their rookie class. Linebacker Cheap Isaiah Simmons Jersey played a limited role. Running back Eno Benjamin was never active. Linebacker Evan Weaver spent the year on the practice squad. Tackle Cheap Josh Jones Jersey played very few snaps all season. Defensive linemen Cheap Leki Fotu Jersey and Cheap Rashard Lawrence Jersey missed time with injuries and got some playing time.
Should the Cardinals have made other selections?
Let’s go back to each pick in last year’s draft and do a redraft.
Round 1: WR CeeDee Lamb over LB Isaiah Simmons

Simmons might be a dynamic player. But he did not have the impact in Year 1 that many hoped he would. That was due to playing time, as he was learning how to be an NFL linebacker.
He showed signs of being fantastic and we will see in 2021 if he takes the next step.
However, the Cardinals really needed more out of their wide receivers and Lamb was a perfect fit. He and Cheap Kyler Murray Jersey are already friends. Lamb was fantastic as a rookie, catching 74 passes for 935 yards and five touchdowns.
Lamb would have eliminated the need to find another receiver this year and, in hindsight, where the Cardinals will pick in this year’s draft is perfect to land a great linebacker — Penn State’s Micah Parsons or Notre Dame’s
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah come to mind.
They could have a top receiver and a top linebacker still had they gone the route of Lamb and probably would have made the playoffs.
Round 3: G Jonah Jackson over OT Josh Jones
Instead of tackle Josh Jones, Jackson would have been a good pick. The Cardinals didn’t need Jone to play and got solid play from veteran Cheap Kelvin Beachum Jersey. They get Cheap Marcus Gilbert Jersey back in 2021 and could simply re-sign Beachum for at least another season.
The Cardinals could use the help at guard. They like Cheap Justin Murray Jersey moving forward but Jackson started all 16 games and was not penalized a single time for holding.
Jones is still a smart pick considering the talent but Jackson might have made a tad more sense in hindsight.
Round 4, pick 1: No change — DL Leki Fotu

I loved the pick then and still love it. The Cardinals needed young depth and now have it, and Fotu has very intriguing upside because of his strength and explosiveness.
Round 4, pick 2: S L’Jarius Sneed over DL Rashard Lawrence
Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports
Lawrence was another good pick and the Cardinals certainly needed every defensive lineman they used, but they could also have landed Sneed. In only nine games, he started six times, had 41 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions. He would have paired nicely with Cheap Budda Baker Jersey, especially having to deal with the injuries to Cheap Jalen Thompson Jersey and sometimes Cheap Chris Banjo Jersey. And while the Cardinals seem to be okay at safety with Jalen and Cheap Deionte Thompson Jersey, with Jalen’s ankle woes, it wouldn’t hurt to have another very good safety.
Rotational defensive linemen can be added every year.
Round 6: LB Jordan Glasgow over LB Cheap Evan Weaver Jersey
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports
Glasgow ended up being what the Cardinals hoped linebacker Evan Weaver, the guy they took in the sixth round, would be as a rookie.
Weaver did not make the team but still has a future. Glasgow was a core special teams player and made the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
Round 7: No change — RB Cheap Eno Benjamin Jersey

Benjamin was inactive for all 16 games but I don’t make a change in the selection for two reasons. One is there wasn’t anyone selected after him that was particularly impactful. The other is, if all goes how it should, he could slide into a Cheap Chase Edmonds Jersey -type role next year. He clearly did not have a good year in practice but the upside is enough to still have him around.
